As Director at Glenfields Care Home Ltd, I am responsible for ensuring that we continue to provide person-centred care to the highest standards while meeting all regulatory and legislative requirements. My role focuses on maintaining excellence across every aspect of the service and supporting our team to deliver care that truly enhances the lives of our residents.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Hospitality Management and have also graduated from the University of East Anglia, gaining additional qualifications in hospitality management and marketing. My early career was spent in customer service roles with a number of blue-chip companies, which helped me develop a strong understanding of quality, communication and client care.

In 2006, my husband Geoffrey and I purchased Glenfields Care Home, beginning what has now been a 19-year journey of continual development and dedication to high-quality care. I joined the family business full-time that same year and found the move to be a natural progression.

Over the years, I have become fully involved in both the daily operations and long-term direction of the home. I am also trained by Bradford University as a Dementia Mapper and in Dementia Studies, which has deepened my commitment to supporting residents living with dementia in a truly person-centred way.

I remain deeply committed to upholding our values, supporting our staff, and ensuring that every resident receives compassionate, individualised care in a safe and nurturing environment.

Glenfields Care Home Ltd

As Group General Manager at Glenfields Care Home Ltd I am responsible for overseeing the overall care, safety and wellbeing of both our residents and staff. My role focuses on ensuring full compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements while fostering a high-quality person-centred environment where residents feel safe, supported and fulfilled in their later years.

I bring over 14 years of experience in the care sector having begun my career as an Activities Coordinator and progressing through a variety of leadership roles. My journey in care has been driven by a deep commitment to improving the lives of others and delivering excellence across residential, nursing, palliative, end of life and community settings.

During the COVID-19 pandemic I gained valuable experience working within a hospital suite as part of a designated care scheme which strengthened my crisis management and clinical coordination skills.

I hold a Level 4 qualification in Health and Social Care and have completed extensive online and in-person training. I am also a certified Train the Trainer for Medication Administration, Moving & Handling and First Aid which enables me to support the professional development of our care teams.

Throughout my career I have successfully led and supported teams through multiple Care Quality Commission (CQC) and local authority inspections. I take great pride in having transformed underperforming services by focusing on the individual needs of residents and driving quality improvements at every level.
My leadership is rooted in compassion, professionalism and a tireless dedication to delivering care that truly makes a difference.

My career in care began as a Care Assistant, where I developed a deep understanding of the importance of compassion, dignity, and person-centred care. Through hard work and dedication, I progressed to Senior Carer, Team Leader, and Care Planning Coordinator before taking on my current role as Care Manager. This journey has given me valuable insight into every aspect of care delivery and allows me to support both our residents and staff with empathy and understanding.

Caring for people has always been at the heart of everything I do. I firmly believe that every individual deserves to be treated with kindness, dignity, and respect, while maintaining as much independence and choice as possible. I am committed to creating a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where residents feel valued, listened to, and supported to live fulfilling lives. Working closely with residents, families, and our dedicated team, I strive to ensure that the care we provide not only meets needs but also enhances wellbeing and quality of life.

I am currently working towards my Level 4 qualification in Health and Social Care and am extremely grateful for the ongoing support and development opportunities provided by Glenfields Care Home Ltd.
Throughout my career, I have completed a wide range of online and face-to-face training courses to further enhance my knowledge, skills, and professional development, ensuring I can provide the highest standards of care and leadership.

I hold a Care Certificate which outlines standards related to Social Care. NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care and currently working towards Level 5. I have continuously attended training to hone my skills and keep up to date with the latest legislation.

As a local to the area, in my spare time you’ll find me on the beach with my family and dogs. I absolutely love our beautiful little corner of Yorkshire and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!
